Professional Interests
Dr. McDougle is very interested in improving primary care access and promoting healthy lifestyles for urban communities. He believes that lifestyle must be a focus of both the treatment and prevention of chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. He serves as the principal investigator for the Urban Diabetic F.I.T.N.E.S.S. Program. In addition, as Assistant Dean for Diversity & Cultural Affairs, Dr McDougle is responsible for improving workforce diversity through education and recruitment. He oversees several diversity programs including the MEDPATH Postbaccalaureate Program. He has implemented several educational research studies that have demonstrated the effectiveness of these important programs.
