Investigator-initiated research within the Ohio State Department of Family Medicine represents ongoing collaboration with other disciplines at the university as well as collaboration with outside institutions. Through this research investigators are evaluating clinical interventions to enhance healthcare screening practices, health literacy, patient compliance with healthcare, and communication between patients and providers in conditions such as cancer, hypertension, and diabetes. The Department's physician expertise and diverse patient population provide a rich environment for such research.
