I am very pleased and excited to be joining the faculty at the OSU Department of Family Medicine. I bring a wealth of over 20 years of clinical practice experience. I have chaired the Department of Family Medicine at Grant Medical Center and the Primary Care Department of Central Ohio Medical Group. While at Mount Carmel I was the physician lead in achieving NCQA PCMH certification for our practice. I see this OSU appointment as an opportunity to further explore and develop my professional areas of interest.
- Providing Excellence in quality Patient Care: This is first and foremost my driving passion. The one-on-one physician patient relationship based on mutual trust, honesty and shared goal and decision making is the foundation of our profession. My goals are to provide excellence in quality individualized care, aimed at improving the overall health and quality of life for the population we serve.
Teaching future generations of Family Physicians: I thoroughly enjoy the process as one of mutual education and inspiration as together we seek to learn the ever-changing landscape of evidence-based medicine and abide by the patient centered principals while advancing the influence and integrity of the profession.
Improving the quality, value and efficiency of the Nation’s Health Care Delivery System: This is how I envision we as a profession must ultimately close the continuous quality improvement loop, through improvement in evidenced-based Health Policy, the intelligent evolution and application of Health Information Technology and through efficient work flow reengineering. I see promoting the Patient Centered Medical Home and developing supporting systems to properly empower providers to assure its success as critical to this cause.
