Why I chose The Ohio State University: The faculty and residents are excellent. They comprise of a very diverse group of individuals with different perspectives and life experiences. I also liked the addition of the University Hospital East as a core inpatient training site, which is located within our city's higher needs neighborhood. This hospital service is a more realistic training site than the larger main University Hospital, which can be very overwhelming, however the program has the added benefit of completing specialty training with renowned physicians in the fields of Cardiology, Critical Care, Endocrinology, OB/GYN at the Main Hospital, where the sickest of Central Ohio often come for advanced state of the art care. Also within Central Ohio is Nationwide Children's Hospital, which is one of America's top ranked Pediatrics Hospitals, which the program has affiliation with and a major part of the programs Pediatrics training is completed at. Overall Columbus is a booming city, construction can be seen all around. The city attracts individuals from all around the world, because of the vast outreach of the large University, this makes for a very enjoyable city to experience and complete your residency at.
