How to Apply for Medical Financial AssistanceFinancial Assist

The Ohio State University Department of Family Medicine is part of the OSU Medical Center, which includes five hospitals, three research institutes, a College of Medicine and Public Health, and a network of more than 30 primary and specialty care sites throughout central Ohio. As part of this larger family, we are committed to serving others by identifying and responding to their needs and recognize that some people cannot pay for all or part of their healthcare service.

There are three programs to help people with the cost of their medical care within the OSU Medical Center:

  • Medicaid
  • Hospital Care Assurance Program (HCAP)
  • Charity Care Program

To Apply
If you are interested in learning more about these programs, please contact the progarm coordinator at (614) 293-9898. The Counselor will then begin the application process. Your application will first be sent to the county in which you reside for Medicaid. If you are not eligible for Medicaid, that same application can be used for the HCAP and then Charity Care.
