
The Ohio State University Department of Family Medicine is part of the OSU Medical Center, which includes five hospitals, three research institutes, a College of Medicine and Public Health, and a network of more than 30 primary and specialty care sites throughout central Ohio. As part of this larger family, we are committed to serving others by identifying and responding to their needs and recognize that some people cannot pay for all or part of their healthcare service.
There are three programs to help people with the cost of their medical care within the OSU Medical Center:

If you are interested in learning more about these programs, please contact the progarm coordinator at (614) 293-9898. The Counselor will then begin the application process. Your application will first be sent to the county in which you reside for Medicaid. If you are not eligible for Medicaid, that same application can be used for the HCAP and then Charity Care.
Determining Eligibility
The eligibility requirements vary for each financial program. However, all programs are based on the Federal Poverty Guidelines, require proof of financial situation and is based on family size.

Family size is determined as yourself, a spouse, and any children under the age of 18 years old living with you. The hospital financial counselor can explain this further and answer additional questions you may have.
