The Aging Foot: An Interdisciplinary Perspective resulted from a collaborative effort between the Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health, Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Western Reserve Geriatric Education Center. The team of allopathic, osteopathic, and podiatric physician educators created a comprehensive graduate physician-training program to teach podiatry, family medicine, and internal medicine residents about foot care for older patients.
As the geriatric population increases, it is imperative that physicians possess the knowledge and skills needed for care of foot problems of older patients. The Aging Foot: An Interdisciplinary Perspective is designed to provide the necessary information to assist primary care physicians in diagnosing, treating, and managing foot diseases and disorders affecting older, as well as younger, adult patients.
