The April 16, 2012 edition of USA Today, carried a news story developed by Nanci Hellmich, Nutrition and Fitness Editor, for which she interviewed Dr. Tom Best, Professor of Family Medicine and Pomerene Chair. The story, “For Exercise, Put Your Best Shoes Forward,” was about the fact that one size doesn’t fit all, and one shoe doesn’t fit all when it comes to picking out the best running, walking, hiking, or other workout shoes. USA Today asked several top names in the fitness world to share how they select shoes for their workouts — and when they know it’s time for a new pair. Dr. Best was the first expert cited!
