The OSU Medicine in the Arts program was nicely featured in the Arts and Leisure section of the Columbus Dispatch on Sunday, March 5, 2017.
The program, founded in 2009, is the brainchild of Dr. Linda Stone. Dr. Stone organized the program based in part on new research into the rate of burnout among medical professionals and in part on her beliefs and observations. With four events sponsored the first year, the program now hosts approximately 20 events annually.
"Our whole focus is, 'How do we thank the people who take care of our patients and teach our students and do research?'" said Stone, 73, now an emeritus professor of medicine. "These people who pour their heart and soul into health care, how do we thank them in a meaningful way?"
