Why I chose The Ohio State University:
There were so many reasons I chose OSU. I really liked everyone I met and I could tell that the residents all had great relationships with each other as well as with the faculty, which is something I valued highly. Additionally, I liked that this program offers training in a mix of both an academic and community setting. At a huge academic center, we have resources and training from experts in many subspecialties, while also having a great family medicine inpatient service at the smaller University Hospital East. OSU FM also offers the opportunity to do an international rotation, which I would love to do during my time as a resident. Coming from the Detroit area, I also found Columbus to be a really fun and exciting city to explore, while still being close enough to visit home from time to time.
